BLM to open Indian Creek Reservoir campground

The Bureau of Land Management will be opening its campground adjacent to the Indian Creek Reservoir in Alpine County, Calif.

Fees are $20 per night for a single tent or RV site, $32 per night for a double-RV or -tent site, $14 a night for a single-tent site, $20 a night for a double-tent site, $50 a night for a group area, and $10 for use of the sanitary dump station. Additional vehicles are free. Showers are for paying campers only. Bear-proof storage lockers are available at each site. Call 885-6000.

Garage sale benefits March of Dimes

There will be a garage sale from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 2516 Canter Way off of Northridge Drive to benefit the March of Dimes. Donations are accepted. Call 884-9562.

World Tai Chi & Chi Kung Day celebrated

The Carson City Tai Chi club will celebrate World Tai Chi & Chi Kung Day at 10 a.m. Saturday in Mills Park at or around the Fireman's Memorial, which is in the center of the parking "island" next to the Pony Express Pavilion.

Kevin Milburn will lead an easy to follow QiGong program followed by an introduction to Tai Chi, which will also be easy to follow and for all ages. Call 720-0421.

Wine tasting to help CHS color guard

Ben's Discount Liquor will be hosting a wine tasting and silent auction to benefit the Carson High School Marching Band Color Guard from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, 2180 S. Carson St., with entertainment provided by Wild Sage Band. There will be hors d'oeuvres, desserts, and wines available for purchase. Tickets are available at the door or in advance for $20 each.

Spaghetti feed aids Meals on Wheels

The Carson City Kiwanis is hosting its annual Spaghetti Feed to benefit the Meals on Wheels program from 4:30-8 p.m. Saturday at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center. The program brings meals and companionship to those who cannot get them themselves, due to disability, poverty or frailty.

Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and children, and $20 for a family of four. For information call 883-8445.

Free vaccination clinic planned

Free childhood vaccinations for school will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Carson City Community Center in Carson City. There will also be vaccinations available at the same time and date at the Community Health Nursing Clinics in Gardnerville and Fallon. Parents should bring their children's immunization cards.
