A memorial service for Christa Ann Ballew-Matthews, 36, a Columbia, Mo., resident, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Episcopal Church in Columbia with the Rev. Amy Cortright officiating.
Mrs. Ballew-Matthews died Sept. 18, 2006, at Boone Hospital Center in Missouri. She was born Dec. 26, 1969, in San Angelo, Texas, to Gary I. Ballew and Susan J. Dolan Ballew.

She married Marty Matthews on Dec. 28, 1990, in Reno.
She graduated from Bartlesville High School in Bartlesville, Okla., in 1988 and received a bachelor's degree in art from the University of Missouri in 2005.

She worked for the University of Missouri Extension office for five years. She enjoyed horses, art, and her children and family.
Among her survivors are her parents of Carson City; husband of Columbia; son, Rowen Malone Matthews of Columbia; daughters Eilish Wren and Elora Kate Matthews, both of Columbia; brother, Mark Ballew of San Francisco; sister and brother-in-law Catha and Jon Lagere of Reno; mother and father-in-law Gretchen and Robert Matthews of Bartlesville; sister-in-law Jennifer Carter and family of Austin, Texas; grandfather Ray Ballew of Centraila, Mo.; grandparents Bill and Dorothy Dolan of Carson City; and several extended-family members.
