A Fernley man was convicted Tuesday by a Lyon County jury of manufacturing methamphetamine.

Robert Dean Mitchell, 43, faces one to 19 years in prison when sentenced in Yerington on Feb. 26.

According to Lyon County District Attorney Bob Auer, the jury found Mitchell guilty of manufacturing methamphetamine around June 3, 2005, at his home in the 800 block of G Street in Fernley, which is described as a family neighborhood. Mitchell was also convicted of unlawful use of a controlled substance.

Deputy District Attorney Brandi Jensen said the jury in the Third Judicial District Court in Yerington received the case about 4 p.m. and returned with the guilty verdict by 4:25 p.m.

Jensen described Mitchell's meth lab as small.

"But still just as dangerous," she said.
