LaVonne and Tom Birdwell, Carson City residents for the past seven years, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Tom and LaVonne were married July 19, 1957. They have two sons and two daughters, and four grandchildren.
Tom retired from the California Fire Service in 1985 and is the manager of the Carson City Senior Citizens Center Thrift Store; LaVonne serves as part-time assistant manager of the Thrift Store.
The couple will celebrate with their family at home and at dinner at a local restaurant.
