Fans getting priced out of Wolf Pack football

Sadly, the days of tailgating and football have come to a close for this group of Wolf Pack football fans.

Greed and selfishness have come first for the University of Nevada Athletic Department.

Parking is now being sold at prices only the very wealthy can afford. ($500 per space - west parking garage.) Twenty-five years of barbecues and fan get-togethers have come to an end. These parking areas, north of the stadium, once filled with blue and silver, now sit empty and quiet.

Increased and overzealous security has made Mackay Stadium uncomfortable for fans. No backpacks or water bottles make attendance difficult for families, not to mention $18 tickets. Add the Gestapo-like fence around the field and no wonder the stadium is half empty.

President Glick has the opportunity and duty to rid the University of Nevada of this parasitic group.

Fans will then have a chance to return and support these wonderful classes of student athletes who call the University of Nevada their home.

Nevada should choose renewable energy

Thank you for taking a stand on the issue of renewable energy. It is very refreshing to see the media in our state recognizing the important role that renewable energy is playing in Nevada's economic future. Coal-fired power plants are a vestige of the past, and we as Nevadans stand to gain very little and lose a lot from their continued use and development. As consumers we have the opportunity to choose where we want our power to come from, and I believe it is time to choose renewable energy for both our health and our quality of life and to create new long term economic opportunities for Nevada. Focusing on renewable energy will make us economically stronger, more independent, and better able to handle and plan for the needs of the future.

No coddling of illegal immigrants

Identity theft can be devastating, especially when you consider that it can take literally years to fix your credit from your OWN mistakes, let alone a perfect stranger using stolen Social Security numbers. THANK YOU ICE Š keep up the good work!

For those worried about the ILLEGAL immigrants picked up, most of us are taught as children that there are consequences for our actions! If you do something illegal and you get caught, you have no one to blame but yourself. Blaming ICE agents is misplaced. That's like blaming a teacher who gives your child a poor grade for not turning in their homework. Then if you do blame the teacher, you show the child that it is acceptable not to follow the rules.

I don't see any protesters picketing over the children that are taken from their addict parents, those kids never asked to be in foster care, yet people will protest over the children of the rounded up ILLEGAL immigrants. I ask you, who put those kids in that position to begin with? THEIR LOVING PARENTS.

I'm sick of hearing they want a better life for their children etc. Instead, I have a couple of suggestions. Do it legally, don't teach your children that it's OK to buy Social Security numbers and so on. Teach your children the RIGHT way to do things. When you teach them it's OK to break laws, they will grow up and do the same. I'd really like to hear what all these ANTI ICE protesters have to say about the poor people who now have to repair their credit after having their identity taken. What about their rights? Quit using the "race" card and telling everyone that the Hispanics are being discriminated against, etc. I don't care what color you are, or where you are from. If you break the law, there are consequences.

It's time we stopped coddling lawbreakers. Whether it's the ILLEGAL immigrants, people shooting out windows, druggies, rapists, murderers etc. You ask what a murderer has in common with an ILLEGAL? THEY ARE BOTH BREAKING OUR LAWS!
