Locals are strong in rodeo

Carson-Douglas Rodeo Club sponsored by Carson Dodge has gotten off to an outstanding start so far in the spring rodeo season.

Gardnerville's Jonathon Glocknitzer placed first and third in cutting at the Moapa Valley Rodeo and took first and third again at the Boulder City Rodeo. Glocknitzer is ranked fourth overall in the state.

Elyse Heberger had a strong showing in barrels at Moapa, taking seventh on Saturday in 18.2 secods. She was also 10th in pole bending on Saturday. Heberger is eighth overall in the state in breakaway roping as well.

Dayton's Cory Hershkowitz won a go-round in bareback riding and is ranked second overall in the state. In addition, Dayton's Cody Kiser is tied for fourth overall in the state in bareback.

Dayton's Byron Kreck took seventh in all four go-rounds at Moapa and Boulder in cutting. He's ranked sixth overall in the state in cutting.

Meanwhile in girls cutting, Karysa Perez took third and fourth at Boulder City and fifth in both go-rounds at Moapa. She fourth overall in the state in cutting. She also has had a sixth place finish in barrels at 18.4.

Carson City's Spencer Osterling has a third place finish in bull riding and is ranked 10th overall in the state in the event.
