Development authority to discuss flooding March 26

Northern Nevada Development Authority hosts a special forum on the Regional Water System and at Gold Dust West, 2171 Hwy 50 E, on March 26.

The program will focus on regional water programs including the proposed water plan in the Truckee Meadows, the flood plan for the Truckee River and a regional flood plan for the Carson River.

Cost is $20 for NNDA members; $30 for non-members or at the door. For information or to RSVP reply to nnda@nnda.org or call 883-4413.



City parks taking application for residential tax

The Carson City Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications from qualified groups for the Residential Construction Tax.

This fund may only be used for the acquisition, improvement, and expansion of neighborhood parks or the installation of facilities in existing parks or neighborhood parks.

Application forms can be obtained by calling 887-2262 or visiting the Parks and Recreation Administration Office, located at 3303 Butti Way, Building 9.

Applications must be returned to the Parks Administration office by 5 p.m. May 30. No late applications will be accepted. For information, call 887-2262.



Builders Association seeking award nominations

Builders Association of Northern Nevada is asking for nominations for the 2008 PASS Awards.

Employment law workshop in Reno

Ann Morgan and Molly Malone Rezac of Jones Vargas present the intricacies of employment law as it relates to employee discharge and documentation, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Peppermill Hotel Casino, 2707 S. Virginia St., Reno.
