Carson City marred by symbols of hate

What is a symbol? Symbols surround our lives every day. They provide communication without written words.
These symbols create meaning for love, like the peace sign, safety, like the stop sign, and unfortunately hate as well.
Throughout the Carson City area it has been decorated with swastikas that have been graffiti on the side of buildings and the underpasses of the new Highway 395. Unlike someone's name being tagged, these are symbols that are ignorantly and hatefully being glorified.
Strictly this is a juvenile act of pure ignorance. It could take up to a month to have this garbage cleaned. So for those who unfortunately have seen one's attempt to breed hate, I apologize. This deeply saddens one; life is too short to have that much abomination.
Peace and Love.

ANWAR won't solve our energy problem
As I read Ed Deusenberry's letter on ANWAR drilling, I realized that he like so many others today don't do research before writing.
I would like to point him towards the DOE report of 2004, which stated that if drilling in ANWAR began in that year it would be 2013 before oil would start flowing, and something like 2025 before full production would be achieved, and that it would provide only 4 percent of our needs.
That is if the oil wasn't sold in Asia, like much of Alaska oil is today.

Exercise caution around dogs
Very funny term, "Canine Land Shark." That deputy has a good reason to fear dogs.
Dogs bite millions of people a year; there are lawyers that specialize in dog bite cases, and experts advise people to never go up to a strange dog and pet it. Dogs are after all, predatory carnivorous pack animals.
Domesticated of course, but still somewhat wolfish.

Politicians profit from energy problems
The peace of the United States is dependent on foreign oil. Our government won't open up drilling areas and they (U.S.) tax the heck out of domestic oil producers; they also play politics with solar panels, windmills and ethanol.
Why? Because there is money in it for the politicians and those who produce and install the tinker toys renewable energy games - very expensive games.
