Repaving on Highway 50 West starts Monday

Print Comment
Motorists can expect minor delays on Highway 50 West to Spooner Summit beginning Monday, as a resurfacing project gets under way by the Nevada Department of Transportation.

The $7.7 million contract, awarded to A & K Earth Movers of Sparks, includes resurfacing nine miles of Highway 50 from the junction with South Carson Street to the Douglas County line.

Motorists can expect one-lane closures both east and westbound during construction, which is expected to be completed this fall.

A separate $8.5 million contract, awarded to Q & D construction of Reno, to resurface Highway 50 from the Douglas County line to Nevada Beach Road is expected to begin May 5 and be completed in the fall.
