Carson City home builders may call a halt to all construction. "Whenever we start yelling 'water shortage' around here, the home builders always get hit, but commercial and industrial building goes unchecked," according to Western Nevada Builder's Association president Dwight Millard. Half of the 419 permits were handed out in January.

Nevada legislators to receive new laptops to replace the two year old models. The old laptops purchased for 42 Assembly members and 21 Senators won't handle the work of the 1999 session.
