Print Comment
Virginia City will celebrate Memorial Day with a Celebration of Heroes Parade down C Street beginning at noon Saturday.

There will also be special salute to Vietnam veterans, with grand marshal Angus Kittle of Arizona leading the way. He will be riding in the Happy Hoofers Carriage.

The Celebration of Heroes Parade is held on Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend to avoid interfering with ceremonies vets hold at area cemeteries. It is held to honor the sacrifices those who made the ultimate sacrifice for America.

Veterans groups, horse groups, antique cars and more are expected. To join the parade call (775) 847-4768 for an entry form, or be at the Fourth Ward School on the south end of C Street at 11 a.m. Saturday for the lineup. All entries are welcome.
