Nevada voter fraud task force formed

LAS VEGAS — A voter fraud task force is looking for election irregularities and instances of questionable voter registration and intimidation in Nevada.

Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller, state Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto, U.S. Attorney Gregory Brower and FBI Las Vegas Special Agent in Charge Steven Martinez pointed Thursday to projections of a record voter turnout in Nevada in November.

They say the interagency Election Integrity Task Force aims to make sure every vote counts.

Officials are looking for registration irregularities by paid canvassers, forged or discarded completed registration forms, and instances of bribes, interference or intimidation at polling places.

The task force plans a toll-free hot line for complaints, and Miller says people can check their voter registration status at www.silverstate08.com.
