Former Olympian shot in Vegas

LAS VEGAS — Authorities say a Las Vegas man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of former Olympic boxer Rhoshii Wells.

Las Vegas police say 26-year-old Roger Randolph was arrested by Arizona state troopers in a traffic stop near the Arizona-Nevada state line on Wednesday afternoon.

Randolph was wanted in the Monday shooting at a Las Vegas apartment complex that left the 31-year-old Wells dead.

Wells won a bronze medal in the 165-pound boxing class at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He had recently been working to revive his career.

Wells had a professional record of 18 wins, 2 losses and 10 knockouts as a light middleweight, and last fought in 2005 in Chicago.

Two years later, he was eliminated from a spot on ESPN’s boxing reality show, “The Contender.”
