Joan Zadny of Coldwell Banker Best Sellers in Carson City has been named Realtor of the Month for July. Joan has been a licensed Realtor in Nevada since 1997, but began her real estate career in Oregon back in 1979.



The board of directors of SlotWorld Inc. appointed Jeff Smeath as president of the Corporation in August. Smeath joined SlotWorld on November 8, 1994, and replaces Dennis Small, who was appointed chairman of the board Sept. 1.



Debra Lang, director of hotel operations for the Carson Valley Inn in Minden has been named a National Director for the American Hotel &amp; Lodging Association representing the Nevada Hotel &amp; Lodging Association.



The Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education is sponsoring Life Insurance Awareness Month in September, and Marilyn Lewis of State Farm Insurance in Carson City will be educating her community about the importance of having life insurance based on her personal story. She will speak to groups beginning this month.

Storey County officials are finalizing plans to move into their new 30,000-square-foot facility in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. The move is expected to take place the first week of October and was necessary because it will bring needed services to TRI including a fire engine, sheriffs officers, emergency medical assistance personnel and snow plows to clear the roads to keep the amount of heavy truck traffic moving during the winter.
