Kenneth Hellwinkell

Kenneth Hellwinkel, 80, a lifetime Gardnerville resident who engaged in ranching and construction, passed away on September 12, 2008.

He was born February 4, 1928, to William and Alvina Hellwinkel. He graduated from Douglas County High School. Kenneth was a Korean War Veteran who was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart. He married Victoria Urionaguena on March 21, 1954.

His parents, sister, Harriet, and his wife Victoria, preceded him in death.

Kenneth is survived by his son Ken of Teton, Idaho, stepdaughter, Frances and her husband, Jesus Pedroarena of Minden and grandchildren, Kendra and Kale of Bozeman, Mont.

A celebration of life will be 11 a.m., Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Gardnerville. Burial will follow at the Fredericksburg Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vickie Hellwinkel Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Nevada Junior Livestock Show Office, P.O. Box 8026, Reno, Nevada 89507.
