God is in control

Print Comment
When we look at what is happening in the world today it is easy to become alarmed, scared, worried, frustrated and depressed.

We are facing a huge challenge with the economy, with people losing their homes their jobs and many of us “baby boomers,” seeing our retirement accounts dwindle.
I have good news, “God is still in control.”

Did you notice the sun came up this morning and set this evening? Do you know He still saves and heals people? The Bible still is the answer book. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth)

Revelations 1:8 — I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

I like to say it this way; He was, He still is and He will always be.

Luke 12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. If God knows the number of hairs on my head, why would I ever think that He is not in control for me? He feeds the sparrows will He not feed me?

I think that many of us fail to stop and count our blessings. It is Thanksgiving season, perhaps we need to sit down and take inventory of what we have, and give thanks.
Yes there are those in need. But for the majority of us we have a place to sleep, food, clothing jobs, freedom, churches and families who love us. Is it like it was back in the good old days? Perhaps not, but who wants to go back anyways? God is still in control.

Do not misunderstand what I am saying to you, I have my moments where I need to stop and remind myself that “This is the day that the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it.” When I sing a few bars of the psalm, I always feel a new peace within.

My life here on earth is short and I cannot spend time worried and scared about tomorrow, I just need to face today. I heard Dr. David Jeremiah, pastor of a mega church in San Diego, say “I am immortal until my God numbered days are complete.”
This is so true, but even greater than that is the fact that when my numbered days are over I will be eternally with God. I can look forward with JOY to the cross set before me.

2 Peter 3:9 — The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

God is in control, surrender your will to His, ask for His forgiveness and He will give you rest.
