Partly cloudy today; no road controls



The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:59 a.m. all routes are open with no controls.



Today’s weather for the Carson City area will be partly cloudy in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy with highs 36-46 with southwest winds around 10 mph.

Tonight, mostly cloudy with lows 21-31 with west winds 10-15 mph.

New Year’s Day, mostly cloudy with highs 39-49 with southwest winds around 10 mph.

Friday, windy and mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain and snow in the morning, then a chance of rain and snow in the afternoon. Snow level 7000 feet lowering to 5500 feet. Highs 42-52 with southwest winds 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.



Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays. There is continued work on Fairview Drive from South Edmonds to South Carson Street with lane closures and possible delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.

Utility work is being done on Little Lane between Saliman Road and Roop Street. Alternate routes of travel are Fairview Drive to the south and East Fifth Street to the north.

Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House has posted lower speed limits with narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.
