NV Energy closing Carson customer service office

NV Energy will shut down its customer service office in Carson City on Friday.

But Customer Service Executive Bruce Bullock said the utility offers several other options, including paying on the company Web site.

He said the walk-in customer service office will shut and its six employees will relocate to the Reno center. The operations office, which houses field employees such as linemen, construction crews and trouble-shooters, will remain at Long Street.

“We're making the change in an effort to keep our rates as low as possible,” Bullock said.

Most NV Energy customers continue to pay by mail. They can also pay with a credit or debit card by phone.

For those who still insist on paying in person, he said there are several payment locations in local grocery stores.

In addition to the customer service operation in Carson City, NV Energy is closing customer service offices in Elko, Yerington, Henderson and Laughlin.
