Student ‘bumped' in crosswalk

Carson City Sheriff's Deputy Matt Putzer talks with witnesses while Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Sean Giurlani investigates an accident in front of the high school on Tuesday afternoon. Sheriff Ken Furlong said an off-duty Carson City deputy “bumped” a girl with his personal vehicle after she stepped out into the crosswalk in front of Carson High. Furlong said the deputy was stopped to allow other pedestrians to cross, and when he began to move, the girl ran out to return to the school. The girl was treated and released from the scene.
