Several years ago, Carson City considered buying the old post office building downtown next to the Nugget to refurbish as a library. Artist renderings show a public plaza, parking, a water feature and outdoor entertainment venue, but plans fell through when the federal government didn't want to sell. Some of the elements shown in this drawing of the old post office could become part of the Nugget project.
