Roy T. Collier, 85, passed away at his home in Minden on July 4, 2012. Roy was born in Arkansas and lived there until about 3 years of age. Then, the extended family pulled up stakes and moved to California, eventually settling in Oroville, where he grew up and attended grade and high school. He and his buddy enlisted in the Merchant Marines and sailed together. Leaving that he learned to drive truck, where he got jobs hauling logs and working in the woods. This led to becoming a gypo logging contractor for 59 years. Roy married Mary Ann in 1963 and they were married for 49 years. He had 4 children. He belonged to the Antique Truck Historical Society and had restored a 1955 Mack LTH Truck. His parents, Howard and Essie, and brother, Loren, preceded him in death. Roy is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; sons, Skip (Charissa) and Brian; daughters, Terri (Mike) and Nancy (Lance); sisters, Jean and Karen (Layne); grandchildren, great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was truly a gentleman, greatly loved, will be greatly missed, and loved the Lord.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:00 am at Walton's Chapel of the Valley, 1281 N. Roop St., Carson City, NV. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
