New voters increasing via online registration

Statewide online voter registration has dramatically increased the number of new voters.

Secretary of State Ross Miller said in just the first week since the system went live statewide and the publicity campaign started Sept. 17, new registrations averaged 550 a day. He said that is double the average during the first 16 days of September.

Miller said statewide online registration is now available for the first time in a presidential election.
