PREPS: Carson stops Wooster in 4

RENO - Carson High's volleyball team moved one step closer to a .500 record with a four-set win over Wooster Tuesday night in a Sierra League match.

Carson won 25-18, lost 18-25, and then won 25-16 and 26-24.

Carson, 3-4, hots North Valleys at 6 p.m. Thursday.

"The girls did enough to win," coach Robert Maw said. "Wooster came right at us. This is one of the best Wooster teams I've seen in eight or nine years."

Maw had a lot of praise for junior Savannah Smith, who filled in for Brooklyn Maw, who will be out 6-to-8 weeks with …
