Comedienne Poundstone sharing her love for libraries with Carson

Comedienne Paula Poundstone, the national spokesperson for the Association of Library Trustees Advocates Friends and Foundations, will appear in Carson City the evening of Oct. 26. The Friends of the Carson City Library, which is sponsoring the event, said she will appear in concert in the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. that Friday night.“If you haven’t been to your library lately,’’ Poundstone said in pre-event comments, “you’re overdue.” She finds it amusing that people think of libraries as quiet places because, she said, they are “raucous club houses for free speech, controversy …
