Thanks to grants and matching donations totaling over $500,000, the computer center/digital media lab is close to opening. Accessible to adults and teens 14 and older, the center contains 26 adult-use computers, six teen-use, touch-screen PCs and two Apples, six high-end computers loaded with Auto Desk/ AutoCad, and Adobe Master Collection, and a digital media “craft zone,” which enables users to create podcasts and film against a green-screen backdrop. Two conversion stations allow patrons to convert noncopyright audio to digital format, VHS to digital DVD, and scanning capability for negatives and slides.
