NTSB sets Nevada Amtrak-truck fatal hearing Dec. 11

RENO — Federal safety regulators will meet in Washington D.C. on Dec. 11 to determine the probable cause of a deadly Amtrak crash that killed a semi-truck driver and five passengers on a train he slammed into in Nevada last year.The National Transportation Safety Board announced the new date on Thursday after canceling the meeting that had been scheduled earlier this week due to Hurricane Sandy.The double-trailer truck skidded the length of a football field before crashing into the westbound train about 70 miles east of Reno in June 2011.The NTSB said in preliminary findings in September that video and …
