Ski instructor dies in skiing accident

TAHOE CITY — Alpine Meadows Ski Resort is mourning the loss of one its own. Annalise Kjolhede, 24, a ski instructor with the resort’s Kids Ski School, died Tuesday evening, following a skiing accident at Alpine on Saturday a resort spokesperson said.Kjolhede suffered serious head and neck injuries after falling and hitting a submerged rock near Wolverine Bowl while skiing with friends that day, the spokesperson said.She was wearing a helmet.Despite the resort not being open for the season, Alpine Meadows ski patrol members, along with members of the North Tahoe Fire Protection District, were on site that day for …
