PREP: Carson girls win; DHS boys clinch title

RENO — Carson High’s girls basketball team, behind 20 points by Savannah Smith, knocked off Damonte Ranch, 50-28, Friday night in a Sierra League game.The win moved Carson to 9-5. The Senators are two games up on third-place Douglas with two games left. Carson’s next game is Tuesday at home against Wooster.“It wasn’t exactly a slow start, but we didn’t execute that first quarter,” Carson coach Nathan Tolbert said. “We came out after halftime and were a lot more aggressive.
