Mike Perez passed away Jan. 25, 2013 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital after a long battle with kidney failure. Originally from Gilroy, Calif. where he retired from the police force; he eventually settled in Nev. and married Donna Burke. He was a manager at Kragen and Grand Auto Stores before spending the last 9 years working at Northern Nevada Correctional Center. He spent many of his weekends at area grocery stores performing Adell's gourmet sausage demos where the kids all called him "the sausage dude".
