Carson City's Board of Supervisors reviewed a plan to house a new Nevada Highway Patrol substation with the local Sheriff's Department, then in a separate action approved receiving a grant to dispose of drugs.Sheriff Ken Furlong said the Thursday morning substation report was based on a lengthy conversation and would allow "one-stop shopping for the public" on some public-safety matters.Highway Patrol Chief Troy Abney said the move would function as "a force multiplier" at times.
