Gene was born July 16, 1925, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, and the University of So. California.He served our great Country in the Navy starting on Nov. 11, 1942, was assigned to the 5th Amphibious Force in the South Pacific where he took part in seven amphibious landings, receiving seven battle stars. He was recalled for the Korean War, receiving an additional two battle stars and the Presidential Unit Citation. He is a life member of the D. A.
