Lawmaker's wife seeking protective order in Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A judge in Las Vegas will hear a request to extend a protective order for the wife of a troubled Nevada state lawmaker.Assemblyman Steven Brooks' lawyer, Mitchell Posin, says Brooks won't have to be in Clark County Family Court for the 1 p.m. Tuesday hearing.The proceeding is one of several faced by the Democrat from North Las Vegas within the last month.Brooks has been arrested twice, given a psychiatric evaluation, banned from meetings with party colleagues in the Assembly and banished from the Nevada Legislature building.Last Friday, Brooks was kicked out of a Reno casino restaurant, …
