Historical scavenger hunt is open

The Historic Resources Commission will hold a scavenger hunt for children and a separate hunt for adults through May 28 in Carson City’s Historic District.

Participants must find architectural building features and provide the correct addresses from pictures provided.

Adults with all of the correct answers will be entered into a drawing to win a free lunch for two at Adele’s and children with all of the correct answers will be entered into a drawing to win a gift certificate to Brugo’s Pizza Co.

Drawing class starts May 9 at Comma Coffee

Deana Hoover will teach an intermediate and advanced drawing class from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday nights from May 9 to June 27 at Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St.

Students can work with pencil, charcoal, colored pencil or ink and must bring preferred supplies.

The cost for the class is $90 and a $10 discount is available for seniors. Payment is due on the first day of class.

The Mother’s Day train will depart the Carson City Depot, 4650 Eastgate Siding Road at 10 a.m. May 12. The train will leave the Virginia City Depot at 3 p.m.
