Carson City Sheriff’s Log: Man arrested on drug-possession, child-neglect counts

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

MONDAY

• 4:15 a.m.: A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested on two violation-of-a-suspended-sentence warrants out of Carson City. According to the man’s arrest report, a security worker at a casino reported seeing a person he knew had a warrant. Total bail was set at $6,000.

SUNDAY

• 1:30 p.m.: A 24-year-old Salinas, Calif., woman was arrested at Walmart on Market Street on suspicion of petit larceny, as well as on two contempt-of-court warrants — one out of Carson City, the other out of Reno. According to the woman’s arrest report, she was seen taking $107.35 worth of merchandise from the store without paying. Total bail was set at $1,750.

• 10:27 a.m.: A 28-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at the Carson City Jail on a contempt-of-court warrant out of Carson City. Bail was set at $351.

• 10:49 a.m.: A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 3600 block of Imperial Way on suspicion of child neglect and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as on a failure-to-appear/traffic warrant. According to the man’s arrest report, a deputy showed up at his home to serve an arrest warrant and talked with the man’s 7- and 6-year-old children. They reportedly said they’d been alone all morning, and a deputy saw a glass marijuana pipe with residue on a furnace in the living room. One of the children reportedly tried to grab the pipe and hand it to the deputy, and neither child knew how to reach their parents. The children’s grandmother arrived about 10 a.m. and said she lives nearby and usually arrives about 10 a.m. to watch the children. The grandmother called the children’s father, who reportedly said he works from about 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. and that the pipe belonged to him. Total bail was set at $3,715.

• 11:41 p.m.: A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested at West Winnie Lane and North Division Street on suspicion of driver’s license not valid, as well as on a failure-to-appear/traffic warrant out of Tonopah. According to the man’s arrest report, a deputy pulled him over for not having a license plate light. Total bail was set at $325.

• 12:28 a.m.: A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at South Carson Street and Koontz Lane on a contempt-of-court warrant out of Carson City. According to the woman’s arrest report, a deputy pulled her over for going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. Bail was set at $215.

• 12:50 a.m.: Marlene Herrera, 47, of Carson City was arrested in the 1400 block of East William Street on suspicion of DUI-first offense, failure to maintain a single land and three counts of abusing, neglecting or endangering a child. According to Herrera’s arrest report, a deputy saw her vehicle cross the center line on William near Mills Park, and she had three teenagers in the car. She reportedly failed four field sobriety tests. Total bail was set at $8,525.

SATURDAY

• 11:48 p.m.: A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 700 block of Silver Oak Drive on suspicion of first-degree domestic battery. Bail was set at $3,000.

• 10:53 p.m.: Christopher Rosemann, 28, of Carson City was arrested at Division and Washington streets on suspicion of DUI-second offense and no valid driver’s license. According to Rosemann’s arrest report, a deputy stopped him because he was speeding and the vehicle he was driving had no license plates. Rosemann reportedly told the deputy that he probably was over the legal limit for drivers, and a breath test revealed he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.158. A criminal-history check revealed the DUI conviction. Total bail was set at $2,600.

• 9:11 p.m.: A 43-year-old Reno woman was arrested at Telegraph and Carson streets on a violation-of-a-suspended-sentence warrant. According to the woman’s arrest report, a deputy responded to a report of an intoxicated woman behind a casino and saw her trying to kick the driver’s-side window of a vehicle. She reportedly volunteered to take a breath test and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.193, in violation of her alternative-sentencing agreement. Bail was set at $1,000.

• 3:58 p.m.: A 37-year-old San Jose, Calif., man was arrested in the 2500 block of Scotch Pine Drive on suspicion of battery. Bail was set at $1,000.

• 3:07 p.m.: A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 1900 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of violation of pretrial supervision. According to the man’s arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to a pharmacy to check his welfare, and he appeared extremely intoxicated. His blood-alcohol level reportedly was 0.304. Bail was set at $3,000.

• 3:18 a.m.: A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 1600 block of Wendy Lane on a contempt-of-court warrant out of Carson City. Bail was set at $500.

FRIDAY

• 2:14 p.m.: A 63-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at Lone Mountain Drive and Winnie Lane on suspicion of battery. Bail was set at $1,000.

• 8:08 p.m.: A 31-year-old Minden man was arrested in the 1900 block of North Carson Street on a failure-to-comply warrant out of Dayton. Bail was set at $200.

• 3:26 a.m.: A 35-year-old Sparks man was arrested at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office on a violation-of-a-suspended-sentence warrant out of Carson City. Bail was set at $1,000.

• 4:51 p.m.: Michael Bass, 19, of Reno was arrested at Woodside and Stanton drives on suspicion of felony providing false ID to avoid prosecution, as well as on a service warrant out of Carson City. Also arrested was a 19-year-old Carson City woman, on a service warrant out of Carson City. According to their arrest reports, a deputy pulled them over to check the darkness of their window tint, then learned of the driver’s warrant. Bass reportedly initially said he had no ID and gave a false name, then gave his correct name after he was handcuffed. Total bail was set at $13,000 for Bass and $3,000 for the woman.

• 9:03 p.m.: Charlene Awa, 58, of Carson City was arrested in the 2500 block of Blossom View Lane on a felony theft warrant out of Carson City, as well as on suspicion of conspiracy to commit theft. Bail was set at $10,000.

• 3:45 a.m.: A 31-year-old Sparks man was arrested at William and Stewart streets on a criminal-contempt warrant out of Washoe County, as well as on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was Casey Scott Clifford, 20, of Sparks, on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing/delaying and possession of marijuana. According to the men’s arrest reports, a deputy pulled them over because the pickup they were in didn’t have a license plate. The deputy learned of the 31-year-old’s warrant, then reportedly found a handgun box under the seat that contained a digital scale bearing white residue. Clifford reportedly claimed to be his brother; the Washoe County Jail later revealed his true identity. During inventory of the truck, a deputy reportedly found Clifford’s wallet, which contained suspected meth and marijuana. Bail was set at $4,250 for Clifford and $1,350 for the other man.

• 1:30 p.m.: A 35-year-old man was arrested in the 200 block of East Lee Street on suspicion of filing a false police report and a probation violation. According to the man’s arrest report, he came to the sheriff’s office to file a sexual assault report on behalf of his 6-year-old niece. Witnesses later reportedly told the deputy that the man had said he was going to file the reports to get the girl’s family in trouble, and the girl denied anyone had acted inappropriately. Total bail was set at $8,000.
