For the 22nd year, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, or RSVP, will host the Fourth of July celebration and carnival in Mills Park.
To mark Nevada’s Sesquicentennial Year, RSVP has contracted with Fireworks by Grucci, which holds the current Guinness world record for a pyrotechnic display in Dubai and has been the fireworks provider for seven presidential inaugurations and multiple Olympic opening ceremonies.
“All proceeds go toward services for Carson City seniors designed to assist them to remain independent and in their own homes with dignity. Programs include services such as escorted transportation, respite care for family caregivers, volunteer companions for frail, home-bound seniors, resistance exercise training, homemaker services, pro-bono legal services, mobility management, personal emergency response systems, free farmer’s market coupons and much more,” said Susan Haas, executive director and CEO of RSVP.
RSVP depends solely on contributions to its fireworks fund in order to pay for the display. Individual donations are appreciated, and local businesses are encouraged to donate. RSVP publicly thanks donors in online, print and radio advertising. Contributions are tax deductible, as RSVP is a 501(C) 3 non-profit service organization.
Checks can be made payable to RSVP Fireworks Fund and sent to P.O. Box 1708, Carson City 89702.
