Carson City Sheriff's Log


The following persons were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

FRIDAY

At 10:28 a.m., Andrew Berryman Steppe, 26, was arrested on suspicion of drug charges following a traffic stop on Highway 50 East. The car was stopped because its registration had expired. He was charged with felony drug possession and possession of drugs without a prescription, as well as having no proof of insurance. Bail was set at $5,600.

At 11:10 a.m., Tawnja Finley, 50, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of felony drug possession, possession of paraphernalia, DUI drugs and violating probation conditions. The arrest followed a traffic stop on Highway 50 East. Total bail was set at $12,500.

At 7:16 p.m., a 19-year-old Carson man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and violating a suspended sentence condition after a traffic stop in the 800 block of East Long Street. Bail was set at $2,090.

SATURDAY

At 1:49 a.m., a Carson 25-year-old was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense after a resident on Carson River Road reported an intoxicated driver. Bail was set at $1,000 bail.

At 4:11 a.m., a 23-year-old Carson man was arrested on suspicion of DUI charges after deputies stopped him in the parking lot of Batteries Plus on South Carson Street. He was also charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated. Bail was set at $2,000.

At noon, a 38-year-old transient was arrested after deputies observed him yelling as passing cars at Carson and Bath streets. A background check revealed he was on a deferred sentence with a no alcohol clause. He was held in lieu of $3,000.

At 1:15 p.m., a 49-year-old Carson man was arrested at Del Taco after a witness saw him sideswipe a vehicle in the parking lot. He arrested on suspicion of DUI-second offense and driving on a revoked license. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 7:50 p.m., a 26-year-old Carson woman was arrested on suspicion of child neglect after a 5-year-old sneaked out of the woman’s home and stole a candy bar from the AM/PM on Highway 50 East. She was ordered held in lieu of $40,000 bail on the felony count.

SUNDAY

At 12:01 a.m., an 18-year-old Sun Valley man arrested on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after deputies discovered the person with him was 17 and didn’t have his parents’ permission to be out after curfew. Bail was set at $500.

At 2:24 a.m., a 26-year-old Wyoming man arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense after a traffic stop at North Roop Street and Hot Springs Road. The vehicle was stopped for speeding. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 10:25 a.m., a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion on shoplifting charges at Sportsman’s Warehouse for attempting to take a Survival Aid Tool costing $2.99. He was also charged with violating conditions of a suspended sentence. Bail was set at $3,250.

At 3:52 p.m., a 26-year-old Carson man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a dangerous weapon and violating bail conditions after attempting to take three knives from a case at America West Guns on South Carson Street. Bail was set at a total of $5,500.

At 6:41 p.m., a 43-year-old Carson man was jailed on charges of disorderly conduct, challenging some one to fight and resisting an officer after he was transported to Carson Tahoe Hospital to check on cuts to his face following an apparent fight. He is accused of resisting arrest, threatening the arresting deputy and trying to flee. Total bail is $2,950.

At 9:05 p.m., a 57-year-old Carson man was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny after trying to take several items from Walmart by putting them under his backpack. Bail was set at $250.

At 9:46 p.m., a 23-year-old Carson man was charged with domestic violence-first offense after a witness reported he hit his sister several times. He was also charged with violating a no alcohol condition of his suspended sentence. Total bail was set at $4,000.
