Nevada Early Start programs get grant

Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., Thursday announced a $2.56 million grant to expand Early Head Start programs in Nevada.

The grant from the federal Department of Health and Human Services was awarded to the University of Nevada, Reno.

Reid said the grant will provide new resources for important Head Start programs across the state.

“Head Start is a proven successful program that lays the foundation for children to be successful later in school and life,” he said.

He said the money is an investment in Nevada’s future.
