Man who reportedly left packages at DMV in Carson City won’t face charges

A transient who reportedly dropped a pair of suspicious packages Tuesday at the Department of Motor Vehicles will not face charges related to the incident. Charles Self, 65, has been transported to the Washoe County jail on outstanding arrest warrants out of Reno for failure to maintain proof of insurance and multiple traffic violations. “He’s out of our hands,” Sheriff Ken Furlong said, adding, “No threat was made by him; he was just angry and stormed out.” The Carson City Fire Department was handling an unrelated call when the bags were spotted.
