Werner, Shirk bury the hatchet publicly

City Manager Larry Werner and Supervisor Jim Shirk on Thursday smoothed over their public flare-up, which occurred at the May 2 Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting. “I crossed the line of acceptable public civility,” said Werner, addressing the board from the public forum podium as soon as public comment was sought Thursday morning. “I’m embarrassed and I am sorry.” Shirk said he accepted Werner’s apology as the two shook hands.
