Silver Springs man, 68, killed in two-vehicle crash on U.S. 95A

A Silver Springs man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday on U.S. Highway 95A, about 4 miles south of U.S. Highway 50.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol:

Jay R. Williams, 68, was crossing U.S. 95A on Fir Avenue in a green Dodge Stratus about 9:45 a.m. when he was struck by a southbound gray Dodge pickup driven by James A. Talbot, 53, of Silver Springs. Talbot tried to avoid hitting Williams, but his vehicle struck the other vehicle’s left side.

Williams’ vehicle was pushed off the road, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Talbot was treated on the scene for non-life-threatening injuries and was released. U.S. 95A was closed for about three hours while crews investigated.
