The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
• 11:51 p.m.: Gordon Leroy Smiley, 53, of Carson City was arrested at North Carson and Rice streets on suspicion of DUI-first offense, violation of a suspended sentence, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and turn signal required. According to his arrest report, Smiley was pulled over after a deputy saw him fail to use his turn signal. He reportedly failed a breath test, and the deputy checked his records and learned he was barred from drinking alcohol based on alternative sentencing restrictions. The deputy then reportedly found a loaded Ruger .38 revolver in Smiley’s trunk while doing inventory. Total bail was set at $3,025.
• 4:18 p.m.: Ian Alexander Farmer, 31, a transient, was arrested in the 700 block of South Richmond Avenue on a felony fugitive-from-justice warrant out of San Diego Superior Court, as well as on suspicion of solicitation without a permit. According to his arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the area after receiving a report of two suspicious-looking men selling items door to door. The second man, a 34-year-old from Pittsburgh, was arrested on suspicion of soliciting without a permit. No bail was set for Farmer. The other man’s bail was set at $500.
• 6:10 p.m.: A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 700 block of Fleischmann Way on a contempt-of-court warrant. Bail was set at $500.
• 2 p.m.: A 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at the Carson City Jail on a criminal-contempt warrant. Bail was set at $737.
The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies, violent crimes and DUIs.
