Elected officials to release schedules

Gov. Brian Sandoval and other top Nevada statewide elected officials will begin releasing their public schedules. Nevada Press Association Executive Director Barry Smith says the public release of the schedules is “a matter of transparency” and should help Nevadans better understand what their elected officials are doing. The new practice comes after the Las Vegas Sun asked the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, treasurer and controller to provide a weekly calendar to the public.
