Virginia City paying tribute to law enforcement Oct. 8

The Storey County Communications Center in Virginia City is teaming up with Virginia City High School and Muckers Football Team to pay tribute to all emergency personnel.

Go to the Virginia City High School's football field at 11 a.m. Oct. 8 to recognize the men and women who risk their lives to keep the community safe.

Before the players take the field, a brief appreciation ceremony will be followed by a moment of silence in honor of those who have fallen in the line of duty. The high school will be honoring all emergency personnel by offering free admission to anyone in uniform.

In addition, the Honor Guard representing the Storey County Fire Department and Sheriff's Office will be teaming up with the Honor Guards from surrounding agencies to welcome both teams onto the field and present the colors.

For more information, call Danielle Meares of Storey County Communications Center at 775-847-0950.
