Yerington’s annual Taste of the Valley Festival returning Sept. 15-16

Tickets are on sale for Yerington's Annual Taste of the Valley Festival, a two-date event rich with local food, art, music and culture.
Tickets for the ravioli dinner on Sept. 15 and the farm to fork dinner featuring Cajun cuisine on Sept. 16 are available for $40 each and $300 for a table of eight.
The ravioli dinner is catered by Dini's Lucky Club and Chef George Dini. The dinner includes Dini's signature ravioli, salad, bread, wine and dessert. Dinner is served al fresco in front of the Jeanne Dini Center, 120 N. California St. Dinner tickets include the music of the Jimi James Band. The band plays covers of favorite rock songs, dancing is encouraged.
Saturday night is Mardi Gras at the Center. The Rotary Club of Yerington is catering this Cajun food meal with Rotarian Peggy Bitler as the lead chef. The meal includes salad, Cajun pork, jambalaya, and blackened chicken, corn on the cob, bread and dessert. The Zydeco Flames of California will bring New Orleans style Zydeco music to town. Mardi Gras costumes, beads, and masks are encouraged.

The Yerington Theatre for the Arts is a nonprofit with the purpose of enriching the quality of life in our community through the arts. It presents a Performing Arts Series, Cultural Heritage Events, a Visual Art Exhibition Series and a Youth Art Education Program. The Taste of the Valley is the major fundraising event for the YTA that helps keep these programs available to our community.

Founded in 1984 by a group of Yerington citizens, the nonprofit operates and maintains the historic Jeanne Dini Cultural Center, a 100-year-old landmark schoolhouse-turned-arts-center.
In addition to providing a unique Arts Center with two Galleries and a 150- seat theatre, the site offers meeting and conference space, as well as studio, rehearsal, and performance space for local artists and students.
