Reno woman gets probation for check forging in Carson City

A Reno woman was sentenced Monday to three years of probation for forging checks. Chelsea Roseman, 23, was arrested Aug. 16 in Carson City after she tried to cash a check with a signature that did not match bank records, according to her arrest report. The charge can be either a gross misdemeanor, with punishment of up to a year in the Carson City Jail, or a felony with a much longer potential prison term and consequent mark on one’s record.
