Elko man pleads guilty to attempted battery charge

An Elko man pleaded guilty to attempted battery causing substantial bodily harm Tuesday morning in Carson City district court. Thomas Caudill faces a varying range of penalties depending on if the judge decides at sentencing the charge should be a gross misdemeanor or a felony. Were it to be treated as a felony, Caudill could face up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine. If classified as a gross misdemeanor, he would face up to a year in the Carson City Jail and up to a $2,000 fine. He was arrested July 1, 2012, on suspicion of kidnapping …
