Guard Emergency Management center lockdown lifted after report of intruder
September 12, 2013
The complex that includes the Nevada National Guard headquarters and Emergency Management operations center was locked down briefly Thursday after a report that an intruder had entered.
Guard spokesman Dennis Fournier said a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt was seen climbing over the fence about 7:30 a.m. The landscaping crew that witnessed that didn't report it until nearly 11 a.m., he said.
At that point, Fournier said, the facility was locked down and security teams conducted a sweep of the buildings, including the joint operations center.
No intruder was found, and the center reopened for business after about 20 minutes.
