The Buckaroos end Fallon's dreams of an undefeated season with a hard-fought win, but the Wave claims shares of a three-way tie for the Northern Division I-A title.
Playoffs: Fallon 20, Fernley 12
In a rematch, the Wave outslug rival Fernley with a late TD pass from Dirickson to Matzen in the fourth quarter to advance to the DI-A state semifinals.
I-A state semifinal: Fallon 34, Moapa Valley 24
Fallon forced eight turnovers — six interceptions — to clinch a berth in the Division I-A state title game. Dirickson throws for 277 yards and two TDs, while Bagby's 18-yard pick-six in the fourth quarter seals the win. Matzen tallied four interceptions.
