NHP said alleged Fallon murderer died of self-inflicted wound

UPDATE: The Nevada Highway Patrol is now reporting that a Fallon man who allegedly murdered his ex-wife late Monday afternoon died of a self-inflicted wound.

According to the Churchill County Sheriff Ben Trotter, Larry Small, 63, committed the homicide shortly after 3 p.m. According to Trotter, Small allegedly shot his ex-wife in the back of the head at the Churchill County cemetery and fled.

NHP spokesman Dave Gibson said when troopers from the Winnemucca District Office found Small's vehicle near mile marker 168 west of the Humboldt County seat, they discovered Small's body. According to initial reports, Small was heading westbound to Winnemucca.

No other information is available at this time.

He was driving a gold colored 2006 GMC extended-cab pickup truck with a camper shell when he was arrested on Interstate 80 at mile marker 168. No other information is available.

Suspect wanted in alleged Fallon murder

According to the Churchill County Sheriff's Office, Larry Small is a suspect in a homicide that occurred in Fallon at 3PM today, and is currently on the loose.

He is 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds. He has grey hair and blue eyes (see attached photo).

He is driving a gold colored 2006 GMC extended cab pickup truck with a camper shell. The Nevada license plate on his truck is 606PLV.

Larry Small is considered armed and dangerous. If located, do NOT attempt contact, but instead call 911 or the Churchill County Sheriff's Office at (775) 423-3116.
