Aces avoid sweep with win over 51’s

RENO — Zeke Spruill shined in his Triple-A debut as the Aces avoided a sweep with a 5-1 victory over the Las Vegas 51’s on Thursday at Aces Ballpark. Spruill did not give up an earned run, and surrendered only four hits through 5.2 innings of work. The 23-year-old, who was acquired from Atlanta in January as part of the seven-player trade that sent Justin Upton to the Braves, walked four batters and struck out one en route to his first win of the season. At the dish for Reno, Matt Davidson and Brad Snyder each recorded a multi-hit game. …
